Find time to read my last post on the curse of a 100k salary, when the tap is about to run dry. I’m in my early 30s but for the last 7 years I have changed a lot of jobs- always dreamt of well-paying jobs, God granted me that. I served in one of the major banks in Eastern Africa and when my world came crumbling in 2017, December, I took some time off.

Embarked on a journey of trying to find myself, I questioned a lot of things that were happening in my life. I asked God why do the wicked thrive? why do they trample on the weak? why do they hate dissenting voices? what’s government? whats employment? why do we go to school?

Took one month, chilling in a rural setup, got bitten by a dog a day before I left for the city, to be hosted by a friend. We lived near the town in jammed-up a single room, we had three beds innit. split the rent amongst friends. all this time I had left my certificates in our residential home and I wasn’t interested in getting any job or applying for one.

my body felt the brunt, I cut weight and all my fitting clothes seemed like tents over my body, I kept a brave face believing in cryptocurrencies at that time — this was before the #bitcoin BLOODBATH OF 2018. I lost about 75% of my savings into that dumb. My father got sick around the same time, so scared to be admitted to the hospital because his medical cover would not cover the bed in the private wing. it took a phone call to calm him down then sold about 5k in bitcoin and wired that amount to mom.

it's about this time that I told my mom to send over my academic credentials via courier to the city, and I embarked on a journey.

it's at this time that I learnt one major lesson

“ In your struggles , keep a brave face and sell hope to your loved ones ”

The city life that I had gotten into was now demanding and now I resorted to looking for jobs, I always knew just like it’s written in the goof old book -MATHEW 7:7 — I would find work if I sought. true to the word I got employed in not so got work environment, as compared to where I worked before.

… to be continued
